Paul’s letters to the church at Corinth are among his most beloved writings.  Who could forget the beautiful image of the baptized as the body of Christ or his inspiring reflections on the true nature of love?  And yet there were deep divisions within the Corinthian community, and Paul’s relations with the church there were fraught with frustration and pain.  A close reading of the letters will reveal both the joys and the difficulties of living in Christian community.

Family of Origin
May 11th, 2009
An offering from the Clergy Leadership Training Program Sustaining Pastoral Excellence It is possible to change your level of emotionality and how much you are buffeted about by the systems in which you reside.  Bowen theory points the way to defining oneself more and being less defined by others. Many methods can contribute to such an effort: increasing contact with family members; observing oneself and others in the moment; studying family history; diagramming the family; reading theory and consciously applying it; and using a coach. People who achieve more maturity dealing with their family find that maturity easy to transfer over to other systems. Kathleen Kerr will present a day focused on these topics using a mixture of didactic presentation, own family presentation and videotape of a persons efforts.
